Phrasal Verb

Definisi phrasal verb dapat kita simak dari pendapatMcCarthy dan O’Dell (2007: 6) di bawah ini :

“Phrasal verbs are verbs that consist of a verb and a particle (a preposition or adverb) or a verb and two particles (an adverb and a preposition).”

Menurut mereka, Phrasal Verb adalah kata kerjayang berisikan sebuah kata kerja dan sebuahpartikel. Bisa juga phrasal verb mengandung sebuahkata kerja dan dua buah partikel. Partikel disini bisaberupa preposition (kata depan) ataupun adverb (kata keterangan).

Sementara itu, Wyatt (2006: 3) menjelaskan tentangdefinisi phrasal verb seperti di bawah ini: 

“A phrasal verb is a verb formed from two (or sometimes three) parts: a verb and an adverb or preposition. These adverbs and prepositions are often called particles when they are used in a phrasal verb.”

Phrasal verb adalah sebuah kata kerja yangterbentuk dari dua (atau kadang tiga) bagian: sebuahverb dan adverb atau preposition. Adverb (kataketerangan) dan preposition (kata depan) ini seringdisebut dengan particle saat digunakan dalamphrasal verb.

Contoh:

Look For (Look = kata kerja, for = preposition)

Wait For  (Wait = kata kerja, for = preposition)

Stand Up (Stand = kata kerja, up = adverbial particle)

Look Forward to (Look = kata kerja, forward = adverb, to = prepositon)

Bisa dipahami bukan, jika ada kata kerja diikutidengan adverbial particles/preposition makabiasanya frasa tersebut disebut Phrasal verb.

Phrasal verb juga mendominasi beberapa ungkapanbahasa inggris atau idiom karena biasanya setiapungkapan / idiom berupa phrasal verb. Meskikadang phrasal verb tersebut berubah istilahmenjadi idiom.

Mengapa Phrasal Verb itu PentingDiketahui?

Lebih lanjut McCharty dan O'Dell menjelaskantentang pentingnya mempelajari phrasal verbdengan mengungkapkan:

“Phrasal verbs are extremely common in English. They are found in a wide variety of contexts. Phrasal verbs are common in less formal English but you will also hear or see and need to use them in more formal contexts.”

Menurut mereka, phrasal verb sangatlah umumdigunakan dalam bahasa Inggris. Hampir di setiapkonteks ada phrasal verb. Phrasal verb juga sangatumum digunakan dalam bahasa Inggris informal (baca: definisi dan jenis bahasa Inggris infrormal)

Autobiography

In this post, i’ll explain a little about me. My name Lestari Vialaga, born ini 1993 which means  my age in this year already 22 years old. I am a student Management of Economic at Gunadarma University. I am final year student, who is always trying to graduate ontime. Amin.

I’ll start to tell about my personality. I love to eat. I love culinary a good place to eat and cheap. I dont ever afraid of fat because i like eating, but i was always afraid not be thin if i overeating hehehe...

I like maroon, almost all my gear colored maroon. I love make up, i like to dress up. I’m like to wear lipstick.

And then i always like to imagine becoming a career woman who likes to dress using blouse and knee-lenght skirt and feet decorated with high heels. I think women like it is always beauty and graceful.

I could say a shy person if i was just met with other people. But i am person who easy to adapt. And if i’m already familiar with you, can i be sure that the most captious person. And then, i am person who likes hanging out with friends everywhere. No wonder i’ve many friends. Cause i’m a person who likes to socialize.

But within the scope of my family was known as a quiet and shy girl. So, in my family no one believes if i captious person, except my mother. Cause i very close to her. I’m happy to tell anything with mother. From the start of lectures, friendship, boyfriend, from the story while laughing to crying. My mother is good listener.

I dont have a brother and sister that is called to as an only child. Commonly assessed the person as spoiled, cannot be independent. Though i dont like it. I tried just want to do everything myself, but my parent always forbid it.

I have a feeling that easily weakned if someone has talked about me behind. I also quitter sad, especially if i watching Dramas romantic hehehe...
